A Note From the Alumnae Relations Chair
Hello Alumnae! After a long summer break, QC is finally back! This year, we have many exciting events ahead and, of course, we are looking forward to see alumnae at events. Events planned for this year include a recording of the Rutgers songs, and the annual Alumnae Dinner! Please read on and see what’s new with QC this semester!

Alumnae Recording of the Rutgers Song Book
Yup, that’s right! QC is finally recording Rutgers songs from the Song Book! We invite all Alumnae to participate in the recording of the CD. This will be a two weekend event, starting Saturday, October 4th, 9am- 2pm as the rehearsal; and the actual recording will be held the following Sunday, October 12th, from 6 pm- 9pm. Both events will be in Voorhees Chapel on Douglass Campus. Please RSVP by October 1st to ltong@eden.rutgers.edu.

Tour in Summer of 2009
Our tour to Taiwan in the summer of 2007 was a great success; not only did we spread Rutgers name “in song and friendship” across the globe, we gave our members a phenomenal experience.  QC is planning another tour in the summer of 2009 (Destination details to follow). Alumnae support in terms of finances, fundraising opportunities, or networking would be much appreciated as we undertake this huge endeavor to spread the Rutgers Name in Song and Friendship.

Winter Concert Date
Our winter concert will be held on Sunday, December 14th, 2008 at Kirkpatrick Chapel at 4:30 P.M. on College Ave Campus. We hope to see you all there!

A Note From The President:

Hello! My name is Kaitlyn McGruther and I am the incoming President of the Queens Chorale.  I feel so proud, not only to represent the lovely returning members of the Chorale, but also to represent the group you all contributed to establishing at this University.  We are proud to boast a membership of diverse ladies with a variety of academic and extracurricular interests, however we are drawn together in song and friendship.  We continue to sing under the musical direction of Dr. Victor Shen.
This year brings many exciting possibilities and after meeting you all at the Alumnae Banquets, AG Field Day, Alumni Weekend, and other Rutgers events, I am excited to have you all involved with QC.  The Alumnae Banquet was a great success: it was a very special moment for me to have sung Hymn To Queens with such a large group of QC members.  I am excited to announce that we will be making a CD recording of the Rutgers Songbook and we would like to invite all Alumnae to sing on the CD.  The rehearsal for the CD recording will take place on Saturday October 4, 2008 from 9 am to 2 pm at Voorhees Chapel on Douglass Campus.  The actual recording will be on the following Saturday October 11, 2008 from 9 am to 2 pm.  We ask that participants attend both rehearsals.  Please RSVP to Lauren Tong, as cited in this newsletter.
I am very excited to see you all again.  I also would like to encourage feedback or suggestions for other Alumnae events you would like to see.  I am very interested in maintaining and strengthening this organization’s relations with its Alumnae.

In Song and Friendship,

                        Kaitlyn McGruther
